Chelsea sack Grant
Chelsea have sacked manager Avram Grant after just eight months in charge.
The decision followed two days of talks between Grant, 53, and the club’s chief executive Peter Kenyon.
The Israeli coach’s position had been subject to intense speculation after Chelsea finished runners-up in the Premier League and Champions League.
Russia coach Guus Hiddink, fellow Dutchman Frank Rijkaard and Manchester City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson are among the early favourites to replace Grant.

not a big surprise really is it. Bring back JOSE!
oh man that is cruel. I thought he was friends with Abramovich.

yeah they might be friends but success is all that matters these days.
What is amazing though is the fine line between success and failure. If chelsea had won that penalty shoot-out everybody would be singing his praises and we would be constantly reminded how even Mourinho never got them to a European Cup final.
this is disgusting. I think Roman should have a go himself
its just wrong, the race for the title and champions league was so close but then again there was no sign of the ‘beautiful football’ we were promised.
abramaviich needs to bring in an attacking type of manager coz they have the players to play good football but it needs to come from the manager.
