France midfielder Franck Ribery was voted Bundesliga player of the year in a poll of 268 league players published in Kicker newspaper on Monday.
Ribery won 57.8 percent of the vote, well ahead of his Bayern Munich team mate Luca Toni of Italy, the league’s leading scorer, who came in second place with 24.8 percent.

Roberto Mancini has received no contact from Chelsea regarding the vacant manager’s job at Stamford Bridge, according to his representative.
“He (Mancini) has a four-year contract with Inter and he is very happy to stay there,” De Giorgis told Sky Sports News.

Terry has been engulfed by self-reproach since missing the penalty that would have sealed a Champions League final triumph for Chelsea at the Luzhniki Stadium. The defender has been offered by counselling by his club, but the apparent softening of England head coach Capello’s attitude to Terry, who has so far been overlooked as captain in favour of Steven Gerrard and Rio Ferdinand, allows a more immediate improvement in his mental state.
